Badminton Coaching Kicks Off Saturday Morning Sports Programme
South Northants & Daventry School Sport Partnership is offering high quality Saturday morning sports coaching as part of a national programme to get more young people involved in 'out of school hours' sport. Roade School Sports College will be hosting the 'Sport Saturday' programme which will include six activities to be delivered over a ten week period.
Starting in January 2010, Badminton will be the first sport to be offered and will run until the end of March.Otheractivities, including Dance, Football, Netball, Electronic Dance Mats and Tennis will begin after the February half-term holiday.
Badminton coaching will be delivered in two ninety-minute sessions, 9.00 am- 10.30 amfor pupils aged 8 to 11 and 10.30 am to 12.00 pm for pupils aged 12 and upwards. Previous experience of badminton isnot required and equipment is provided if necessary.
The cost of the ten week programme is £10 per pupil.
All of the coaches delivering sports activity for the School Sport Partnership are National Governing Body qualified to Level 2 minimum and CRB checked through Roade School Sports College or the County Sports Partnership.
Places are limited on each course and booking is essential. This ensures a high quality experience for the student where the coach is able to give one-to-one attention and meet the needs of the young people more effectively.
