Football Coaching

Football

Football is delivered by one of our qualified FA Level 2 and CRB checked coaches, Barrie Crowl. Each of the sessions will last an hour and as we know it is important that the football programme a player is taught matches his or her age and development, it is for this reason that we will be adopting the 'PLAY S.A.F.E.' curriculum for players under 11.

PLAY The Best Teacher of the Game is the Game Itself

Soccer Ball Work, Dribbling, Passing & Control, Shooting, Tackling and Heading

Awareness Teamwork, Sportsmanship, Goal Setting, Health and Safety

Fun Talent Competitions, Quizzes and Homework Assignments

Education Attacking, Defending, Types of Possession and Decision Making

· A peer nominated 'Player of the Week' trophy will be awarded each session to be taken home and displayed for the week, along with a certificate.

· A coach nominated weekly 'Sportsmanship Trophy' will be awarded each session to be taken home and displayed for the week along with a certificate.

· A 'Player of the Term' trophy - this is a trophy for the most improved player to keep along with a certificate.

· We want to develop each child's skills and abilities using a variety of small sided games, large sided games, drills and fun activities.

· Every child will be included.

· Much of the development work will involve one ball per child to ensure maximum technique improvement.

In order to maintain quality of coaching delivery the group will be limited to 20. Pupils are required to wear appropriate clothing (including shin pads) and footwear for football on the Astroturf and to bring a water bottle.
