Magdalen Family
The Magdalen College Family School Sport Partnership works together in order to help develop the quality and provision of Physical Education and Sport across its eight member schools. The partnership helps to compliment the good work that is currently being done by teachers in these schools, assisting children from the age of 5 to 19 to receive a more positive experience through P.E and Sport.
The partnership offers a wide range of experiences across each Key Stage:
Key Stage One - Agility Balance Co-ordination core principles
Key Stage Two - Multi-skill based FUNdamentals
Key Stage Three - Applying skills into a range of specialised sporting opportunities
Key Stage Four - Examination level P.E, Competitive and Recreational opportunities
Key Stage Five - Elite level P.E and exercise for life skill workshops
Alongside the developmental work of the partnership improving the quality of Physical Education and School Sport in lessons, the Family participates in a range of festivals throughout the year giving the children a chance to showcase their abilities alongside others from surrounding schools. This is seen very much as a scheme to help compliment the established Out of School Hours Learning (OSHL) that currently takes place amongst and within the Family not as a replacement for it.
